U16 names to look out for

Completely breaking the forum's policy on naming juniors, just flicking through some of the names playing at the 16 nationals on at the moment has got me excited. Quite literally, these are some great basketball names.

My All-Star Five:

Jimbo McAnulty (NSW country boys)
Paratene McLeod (NZ boys)
Morgan Munson (Qld North girls)
Jackson Hussey (WA metro boys)
Mara "Auto" Matic (ACT girls OK, I made the nickname up; but it just fits)

Desperately unlucky:
Stacey Poke (Tas girls)
Billy Johns-Teni (Vic metro boys)
Holly Greene (Vic country girls)
Tobias Turello (ACT boys)
Jayden Niven-Trewin (NT boys)
Edith Boundry (NT girls)
Adam Rainbird (NZ boys)
Tyler Hosie (SA metro boys)
Austen Flint (Vic country boys)

But clearly the MVN is a young lad in the NSW metro boys team: Indiana Faithfull. Is it not an absolute corker of a name?

Imagine if he goes on to play college in the US, and he gets snapped up by the Hoosiers: it means Indiana Faithfull would be playing in front of the...Indiana faithful.

Statman: if only that WAS my full-time job. In my job description I'd also include: "Locating Jimbo McAnulty's parents and asking them what they were thinking when they held him as a newborn and they said, 'Hmmm ... you know, he just LOOKS like a Jimbo',".

A little off topic, but slightly relevent, today Damon Heuir from QLD North boys recorded a very rare quadriple double in their 101-98 OT loss to WA Metro.

Heuir had 15 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists & 11 turnovers!

Keep an eye out for Hugh Greenwood of Tas Men. He is likely to be a gun next year as a bottom age under 16 this year (along with 5 of his other team members).

Indiana Faithful of NSW Met is an outstanding sort, made some pretty neat shots in the Grandfinal, but wasn't enough to get his team home after a dummy spit by star of the team Samuels.

Jimbo McaNulty was alright, unfortunately injured after about 4th game but enough to get him in the stats none the less.

Liked the look of the bottom age youngster for SA Metro. Hopefully he will beef up and get some fitness for next years team.

Jack Watts and Josh Wilcher were good for the Vic Mets.

And Big Red for QLD North.

Hey That Adam Rainbird He's Awesome I mean hes dominating and hes got great all-roung game and a cash shot.Look out for the N.Z boy hes one to watch.Also That guy Jimbo he can play man hes good.And have you peple seen the 6ft 9 girl playing for NSW Metro shes "HUGE"

Shannyn- smart player. wicked defence.
