Clarification on rule...

what would warrant a game being cancelled?

eg: a fight breaks out between two or more players... cancell game or jus kick players out?

eg: a ref is hit or physically abused... etc

also... what is the ruling afterwards ie do scores stand as they are?

cheers

See your centre's bylaws for what happens and for what events they will call it for. I know where the team that I coach/manage plays, its recorded as a 20-0 win for the team who aren't "in the wrong". That's at Ingle Farm.

Umpires discretion in social. If they feel just throwing out the 2 players that are in the fight will calm the game down then they'll do that. If they believe the game will not continue in a safe manner even if those 2 get thrown then the game will be called off.

If both teams have initiated the fight score will stand.
If one team is in the wrong and they're losing then score will probably still stand.
It's also not often in social that the winning team is the one that initiate the fight, it's usually the losing team who are getting frustrated. If this is the case and it is the winning team initiating it, then score shall be 20 - 0 for the team that was 'losing' and didnt initiate anything.
