Rickert gets NBL Player of the Week

Another POTW award heads over the ditch with centre Rick Rickert from the Breakers being honoured for Round 9.

Rickert averaged a double-double of 21.0 points per game and 11.0 rebounds as he helped his team to a pair of tough road wins over the Cairns Taipans (93-81) and Townsville Crocodiles (119-108).
The NBL notes the main competition to Rickert coming from team-mate Kirk Penney as well as Matt Burston's 25 and 14 against Adelaide, plus Adam Ballinger's 22.5 and 9.5 as the 36ers split their games 1-1.
Others in consideration for Player of the Week included Brad Williamson (Townsville), Dusty Rychart (Wollongong), Kavossy Franklin (Wollongong), Glen Saville (Wollongong), Mark Worthington (South), CJ Bruton (New Zealand), Oscar Forman (New Zealand), Alex Loughton (Perth), Derrick Low (Sydney), and Gary Boodkinoff (Cairns).
If Julius Hodge is anything like he was last season, other players are going to have to step up if they want to win one of these from here on!
