Lions seek coaches for 2012/13 Seasons

The Lions seek coaches for the 2012/13 season. With significant growth in the past 3 years; 10 players having played, or about to play, overseas; both our U14 boys and girls teams making U14 Nationals; continued growth in the numbers of coaches and players in State programs; competitive Men's and Women’s ABL sides; a large underpinning domestic, competition consisting of almost 300 players aged 10 or under; continued ability to attract and develop coaching talent the Lions continues to represent an amazing opportunity for coaches that want to be part of developing one of the strongest clubs in the nation.

Over the coming 12 months our focus will be to build on our successes and put in place a framework that provides the facilities, people resources, educational opportunities and networks that would be needed to develop WNBA and NBA prospects over the coming decade. We hope by building this framework our athletes will have a vision for their development and be given the best opportunities to achieve whatever their potential is.

Lions’ coaches must be able to demonstrate themselves to be good citizens, capabilities to help their athletes develop a great personal vision of success, positive role models, demonstrate fantastic positive leadership and a strong alignment with our vision document - the Lions Way. Young people that have recently played or are currently playing that feel they can live up to and develop these values are also encouraged to apply.

The opportunities to develop yourself, be a part of building something special, learn more about the game and to be a valued member of the community are immense. Don’t hesitate to contact a Coaching Director Andrew Jantke (Boys Coaching Director 0410 759 280) or Glen Hosking (Girls Coaching Director 0418 854 192).
