Who’s the next Next Star?

Who else is skipping college and available for the program?

Kenyon Martin Jr is a name available but whether he's been looked at is another question.

We keep getting guards/ small forwards

Would there be any point in bringing over a big that gets outmuscled all the time but can work on his low post game and man to man defence etc?

Keep getting, there's been 3 and we were lucky to get them. Not exactly a pipeline heading over here. Apart from Mudiay, Jennings and kid that sat out last year they all go to college 99.999% of time. And don't mention LiAngelo.

Ball will be the clincher of whether the Next Stars program is a success or fades into obscurity. Lavar trashing Illawarra/NBL if his kid stinks it up....well mud sticks.

Not sure if there will be more next stars this season but could see more draft and stash guys here like Ennis was.
Good opportunity for second rounders to develop.

If his kid stinks it up, people will see through him saying the NBL sucks and see that in fact his kid sucks and the NBL is better.

Can Bowen move from a 2-way to a regular contract?

Interesting that the Pacers sign Bowen, then invite Gleeson along to SL. Could be somebody their is interested in the NBL.

I think Bowen will be somewhat of a litmus test.

Going back, prior to his troubles and NBL stint, some touted him as a 5-start prospect. I don't follow enough to say how accurate that was, but his time with the Pacers will be telling.
Will they be impressed with his maturity, development, and work-rate?

(Or will they conclude that the NBL (ie Gaze) ruined him? :-()

For this year, I am so glad that the two signings so far have gone to struggling teams. Should definitely be a boost.
Hopefully we'll see more.
