Frankston played as individuals all year which is why they didn't make the GF.

Conn making the all star team at age 49 is a massive indictment on the standard of the league

Conn is certainly still at least 6'9 but pretty sure he is like 49 years old.

Which is a compliment on how good he is going considering a few years ago he struggle with injuries and is now probably the best SEABL/NBL1 player of the last decade.

Says alot thou about the level of comp and where it has gone as back in the day guys that age aren't still the best in the comp.

I think Conn is late 30s. He started college in 02/03

The women's NBL1 All-Star Five was comprised of Wilson, Lauren Nicholson (Kilsyth Cobras), Rebecca Cole (Dandenong Rangers), Lauren Scherf (Knox Raiders) and Ezi Magbegor (Geelong).

Simon Conn is 36 and was SEABL MVP in 2017 and has been an All-star player many times over. Pretty tough for an Aussie.

Has missed just two games in past four seasons (an interstate trip for the birth of his child). Has not missed a single game to injury in that time. His game is actually built on zero athleticism already, so how does he regress?

The dude shot 63% inside 8 feet this season and 51% on all other 2P shots when everyone knows his game. If you don't think he can play, then stop him...without leaving everyone else open, of course.

And don't forget that his coach had just cracked the NBL at that same age...don't write off the Big Fundamental just yet. He ain't done!!!

Well said. Conn is still a legend and still gets the job done.
Pretty sure we played them last season and he had 34!

Conn is legit don't get me wrong but as a league you'd be hoping the best Aussie in the league isn't old enough to be the father of half his team.

The above isn't a slight on Conn love watching him just kill import after import and hardly move at all by simply reading the game but what does this really say about the league and its young players?

The awards seem to suggest that despite the name change and the increase in streaming and advertising its still Seabl. There is nothing wrong with that though as Seabl was and nbl1 is now a great league.
