If South East can pull this off it would be huge for the league.
Simmons is a guy who was a valuable contributor on those Spurs teams and was decent for the Magic.
Shocked to see that he isn't on an NBA roster.
I believe if Simmons comes to SEM, Mitch Creek is no longer their marquee player.
Thoughts?
Talk about a misleading title. Maybe put a question mark on the end of it?

Where does he fit in their line-up? It seemed like they were pretty stable with their starting 5 and seems like a bit of a double-up with Creek (and I'm not sure Simmons is better than Creek at this stage - he was pretty ordinary in his final stint with Orlando and Phila).
I'd assume he'd replace Magden as their starting 2.
A starting lineup of Roberson, Simmons, Creek, Wesley, Pineau would be elite.
SEM are very thin upfront, why get another wing?
Don't get too carried away, Simmons has been trash on NBA rosters for a number of years now. But yes, he would be a very good pickup for them.
Santamaria said it was unlikely though as he was on the verge of an NBA deal.

Creek better than Simmons? LMAO. Oh my God! Stop. Creek is G-League at best, and is not NBA level. Simmons is. Simmons also has an NBA call up, according to Liam S.

Simmons as starting 2 guard? Where's their shooting coming from? He's a career 31% 3pt shooter! Could be useful for them defensively to have a 6'6 wing, but offensively he's not a great fit with Creek.

The only positive was that they were able to trade him to the Sixers for Markelle Fultz.
And that was the Markelle Fultz who we weren't even sure could shoot a free throw.

He's a worse version of Mitch Creek. Not even in the NBA now for a reason.
Just a thought, why don't these teams sign better players at start or conversely if they struggle in first 5 games cut them and get the replacement in early.
