Mangok Mathiang NBL1?

Twitter a few weeks ago mentioned he was playing NBL1 South.
Was that his name in the boxscore for Casey this past week? No announcement from them though? Is he just here for short term?

It's always interesting to me when I see a guy who could command money elsewhere in the NBL1 or NZNBL. They seem to play hard to get with the NBL and then land somewhere that doesnt pay as well. Maybe it's something to do with timing of seasons but it;s not the kind of guy I'd expect to see in the NBL1.

Hopefully he does come to the NBL. Very much a forgotten man of Australian basketball. Not even sure if he's had any Boomers camp involvement? Either way it's just another name people should get on the phone to.

Strange Mangok Mathiang never played in the nbl. He better hurry up otherwise his professional career is over. Haven't heard much news on Mathiang.

Played for Australia against Kazakhstan
Always wondered why he was never in the NBL after he finished with the NBA G League. Maybe Europe offered better money

Injuries have really hurt his progress hopefully all behind him and he can climb back up into the league

It really is not strange that Mangok has never yet played NBL...he has been on big $$ in Europe, helping Vanboli win tits first Italian Cup in Italy before moving to Turkey, and last playing for Cedevita Olimpija in Slovenia, a team that dominated their national league and played in the Adriatic League (ABA Liga).

He was one of the best big men wherever he played before his broke his leg.

Good to see him back and it looks like the NBL will be his next stop on his way back from injury after NBL1.

"while Casey's former NBA player Mangok Mathiang showed his elite athleticism with 18 points, five rebounds and four blocks. " Plus fouling out at a critical time.
