Kilsyth Clubrooms destroyed

The Melbourne age website is reporting that Kilsyth Clubrooms have been destroyed by fire.

www.theage.com.au - "Fire engulfs hotel"

Article also gives some perspective to the comparative size of Victorian clubs and where they get their revenue - makes Sturt's recent national success even more impressive.

It was "Club Kilsyth" a pokey/tatts venue...It returned its profits to ALL sections of the local community.

Kilsyth and Mountain District Basketball Assoc received only a small stipend from the distribution. Small but still very welcome and helped in part to the upgrading of the facilities at the Associations stadium.

A South Sydney Juniors it aint, who are they? The most wealthy club in NSW Rugby League....BUT only a small amount of dosh flows to the ARLs Rugby League team...

Still says that the club has 15000 members in the basketball club.

That is more than play in the BASA district competition.

Lets see, Knox, Nunawading and Dandenong together would have 15,000...

Kilsyth is the smaller of the four...
