What's going on at Chelsea Gulls?

Anyone know the inside word on what's going on at Chelsea Gulls?

Sixty kids had their hearts broken when the club revoked six VJBL teams across U14, U16 and U18 divisions on the morning of their first practice game. Lots of families furious - some real good kids, especially at U14 level, left out in the cold, too late to try out for another club.

Been without a GM since earlier this year when Bridie left to join BV, two staff memebers - a domestic comp admin who is just overwhelmed and a DOC who seems clueless and, judging by other posts i've seen on here, well-known for being not the most competent, shall we say. And now he's head coach of the senior men's team. Yikes.

Worried for future of the VJBL program!

To be fair hoopie, it had been a few months since the last one, so we were due. I think we need around 3-5 Chelsea posts per calendar year.

That's sad for the kids.
Melbourne Tigers are after more U/12 & U/14s Girls as of yesterday.

It was all boys teams that got cut. Chelsea's girls programme seems to be doing ok. Although will be interesting to see how the DOC juggles coaching the girls 16.1s and the Div 1 men.

Let's call it for what it is. The half brother of Ben has driven that rep program into the ground. He has been taking a full time wage for nearly 10 years as DOC, and the results have gone down hill every year! Problem is, he has mates on the committee that cover his ass. Until someone has the balls to get rid of him, the rep program will continue to fail. The domestic comp is growing which is great, but they waste the money made from that on a selfish, incompetent DOC !

I don't know much of the history with this guy, but does seem to be a pain point. Heard there are visa issues connected to his employment too, but not sure that's the case given he's been here quite a while now.

Apparently lots of in-fighting on that committee, too.

Same shit, same shit DOC, same garbage committee.
No one actually cares about the program, they are all in it for themselves or to ensure their kids make the 1s teams.
Need a complete clean out.
Clearly the last one didn't work.

Just Saw AGM called today. President, Vice President and Treasurer were not made aware or consulted on date.

Secretary/Womens coach appears to be going rogue.

How on earth does the Secretary have that much pull?
Rumour has it that the committee is completely divided.
But that wouldn't be unusual for Chelsea, they don't appear to get much right at all.
