Question on Next Stars Rule

Within the last week, both Almansa, and now this morning Malique Lewis have declared for the NBA draft.

Had thought both were more 2026 prospects, and it seems unlikely either gets drafted.

If they go undrafted, they can't return for another season as a NS can they?

If so, that's rotation pieces on 2 top 4 teams that are gone

Who knows? Justinian Jessup was a Next Star as a draft and stash, so I don't think the rules are hard and fast.

They definitely change the rules as they please but I think from memory all NS deals are 2 years so as long as they qualified the first year they'd be fine to remain on those deals I imagine?

Would imagine it'd be like a college player declaring, doing some workouts then withdrawing if they don't go well.
God knows how it works with NS program but would imagine it would be business as usual if they withdraw. Wouldn't think the league would tear up their contracts immediately.
Unless a team or two have already spoken to them they'd be best served to return for another year. Both showed potential, just need more consistency as youngsters do.

Not sure about the rules, but there hasn't been much talk of new incoming batch of next stars accept Daniels.
