yeah saw that, showed a clip of the interview newley said 6ers have brett who he has looked up to and the the tigers have Gaze asking him to join the tigers and it makes it hard to turn that down. As mentioned on other posts it look like he is off, and its a piece to show how hard a decision it is.

Maybe if Brett is such a big role model for newley it might be time for him and maybe mark davis to have newley over for a nice little bbq, just to help intice him.

I would be absolutely pissed at Newley if he goes to Melbourne.

Got a whisper the other week from interstate that they would be announcing Newley on a specific date - tomorrow. Guess we'll have to see. Cross your fingers!

i wouldnt mind them signing Simon Conn as the centre, as if nothing else its us taking a chance on a young guy and a look to the future, which im sure most fans will appreciate and like the idea of, especially since we have now officially missed out on Melmeth and Pepper is rumoured to be going else where so our options for starting centre are now either a fringe starter like Dench or Moore or take a punt on a young guy like Conn, unless we sign Conn and Dench with one of them being our back up PF?? that would prob be even better, then if we get a good import SF our team should be decent, an improvement on last year anyway

I guess the other option could be if Conn and Dench are deemed worthy of starting 5 spots, we could possibly try ballinger at SF ala Redhage and sign a import Guard to go with Maher, but that may be a bit risky since Conn has never played NBL and Dench is a fringe starter

Heard a whisper this morning of a Press Conference for the sixers today.

Could it be just to officailly announce Ballinger? I dont believe that has been done yet.

I wouldn't believe any stories they show on the news. Before last season started channel 7 announced that the Sixers had signed Kevin Freeman.

Ballinger was announced on the web site a while back.

I seriously haven't heard anything so these are my guesses:

1. Announcing Newley.
2. Announcing Dench to offset the Tigers announcing Newley.

I would guess the second one.

All rumours point to Newley signing with the Tigers.
