Are their any schools (private or public) in SA that offer scholarships to talented basketball players? I hear about schools offering scholarships to footy and cricket players but never really basketball players?
townsville high school have an academy set up from basketball and they are pretty successful. Pasadena have a special interest program. newley and ingles have both come out of pasadena but the depth in their teams has always been an issue.
yeh cabra gives basketball scholarships...maybe only about 10 per year...at cabra they will pay for the first few years...if you begin in year 8 but around yr 11/12 they will remove the scholarship as education becomes the focus...cabra currently has around 10 girls who have recieved some benifits and scholarships whether half or full and about 4 boys....only 1 in the senior team...most from yr 8's though...
Don't go to Cabra. Nah, actually it's ok if you play basketball.. You can get away with anything and are guaranteed an "A+" for PE. Even if you only turn up for one lesson a week. Seriously.
Are you sure about Cabra cause went my folkes rang and asked they were told no Basketball Scholarships were issued. Plus they are a couple of times and were given the same answer by different people. So what is the goer. Folkes reckon it could be a grant eg Sole parent etc
