Wildcats sign Slingers Captain Ben Kinight

Announcement on Wildcats Site

Subject to NBL Approval, Ben Knight has signed with the Wildcats. With Rogers under an injury cloud this should be great news for Perth.

Wonder if we we see any other Slingers returning?

Bolsters an already very strong Wildcats front court. I suspect that the combination of Rogers/ Knight/ Loughton/ Redhage will cause real headaches for most teams (except maybe the Tigers).

So Ben Knight has played for Singapore, Sydney, West Sydney, Cairns, Townsville, Vic Titans, SE Melb Magic, Brisbane Bullets, Wollongong Hawks and now Perth. I once saw him in a bar in sydney and asked if he could buy me a drink if i could name all the teams he'd played for, he said yes so i did, then he went and lined up for 5 minutes to buy me a drink, he didn't even drink himself. My mate went up to Wheeler the same night and with my help beforehand named all his teams at the time except forgot to say Perth so Wheeler refused to buy him one, at the time i think he'd played for 6 or 7. I hope if i ever see maher out he'd buy you a drink if you named all the nbl teams he's played for.

So the Wildcats have like 12 contracted players now...

Rogers 10
Redhage 10
*Hinson 9
*Victor 9
Loughton 9(3)
Knight 9
Crawford 7
Robbins 6(4)
Weigh 3
Dowdell 7(1)
Caporn 5(4)
Garlepp 5

Anyone know how they plan on managing that roster? To my knowledge Garlepp & Weigh are the only ones that would still be eligible to be a development players, and I'm pretty sure the Cats have higher ambitions for Weigh (than as a dev player)?

In one word ...
STACKED!

its great to see that they have got aggressive in the off season and have put a side together early, unlike previous years where imports were arriving only days before the fixtures started. will be an exciting year out west.

you'd think

ROGERS (when fit
LOUGHTON
REDHAGE
CRAWFORD
HINSON

with a bench of

VICTOR
KNIGHT
WEIGHT
CAPORN
ROBBINS

that bench could possibly start in this league!!!

I think with the state of the league you can realistically forget about enforcement of the points system and or salary cap , hang on , disregard that statement .

Rogers/Victor/Knight
Loughton/Knight/Dowdell
Redhage/Weigh/Garlep
Crawford/Caporn/Weigh

woody, how exactly is rogers overrated?. he averaged 9 boards and eleven points last year. he was also a top 5 block shot getter. he shot the ball at a very good clip od 55%. he's probaly a top 3 defensice center in our league. overall he's probaly behind anstey as 2nd best pivot in the game.
