Its not good. Going to the AIS is a big decision as a lot of the kids are just entering yr 12. 1 SA boy was asked but chose to concentrate on that as mentioned on the Basketball SA press release.

In a basketball career 1 yr wont matter and he can always go to the AIS when finishes yr 12. Everyone has to make their own choices, hopefully based on advice by those qualified to give it, without the input of ignorant, anonymous opinions you see in this forum.

I think this does show that boys-SA teams have been getting pretty good results in the past couple of yrs despite lacking super talent.

You can also do year 12 again but if the lad can go after Yr 12 thats great and I think he should.
The AIS maybe only one year but with a massive spotlight on the AIS from the US you would think players would look to use it as a stepping stone to attend US Colleges to not only further their basketball but also their life after it.

In relation to where are the boys - Look at who the coaches are at the AIS that make the decisions. The girls from S A , particularly S A country girls, have done very well recently which may be coincidental but does reflect the coach's roots. Several states might ask why some of their players missed out.
Where is the Boy's coach from and has the boys selection omitted several candidates outside of that coach's state?
There are no hard and fast rules for selection and its far too subjective so coaches can never be wrong in their selections. By the time any selections prove folly the coach who selected them will be long gone and it will be the problem of someone else.

I hope the new girls are better than the present group because they are ordinary.
