Breakers vs Spirit, Dec 18
What was looking shaky for the Breakers at half-time against Sydney, up just five points 46-41, turned into a club-record winning margin as they opened the third quarter 18-0, piled on 68-29 in the second half, and won by 44 points. Final score was 114-70.
Last few minutes before half time was awful for the Breakers and they couldn't hit a thing.
Finally a good chance to see Adam Tanner who has struggled with injury all season; he made the most of his chances to have 7 and 5 in 11 minutes. Tom Abercrombie was also good and Corey Webster hit the court too.
Matt Knight was again very good for Sydney, Blagoj Janev had a decent showing, but the rest were below their best.
Big challenge coming up for the Breakers in Perth. I think that game, against the Dragons in Melbourne and in Adelaide will be their toughest games.
New Zealand 114 (Jones 24, Penney 21, Ronaldson 16)
Sydney 70 (Knight 14, Smith 14, Janev 10)
