NCAA results .. Final

Managed to get home during my lunch break and see the last 7 mins of the game !!

North Carolina won a thrilling game by 5 pts in the end .

May scored 27 , 10 boards .. and was backed up well by all and sundry.

3 pt Speacialist Nead (Head?) could not tie it with a 3 pt attempt with seconds (45 ish)to go .. Illinois gave up some fouls ... leading to a stretch in the margin to 5 from the foul line .

Exciting stuff !!

Ive been followin these two teams all yr and the game was awesum to watch. May got 26 and 9 on 10/11 shootin...illinois had no answer for him inside....they started wit roger powell jr on him and threw augustine, ingram , and even nick smith at him bit he was too strong for em all. McCants scored 14 in the first half and raymond felton hit sum big shots down the stretch for carolina.

The tar heels were able to force the illini to take outside shots and head, williams, and brown cdnt knock them down on a consisent basis.

Guys like May, Felton, and McCants did alot to improve their NBA chances

just showed the replay, and Illinois outside shooting got them back from a 15 point deficit two minutes into the second to tie it up with 2:32 to go. Head hit 3? 3's at the start of the second but couldn't connect down the strech. Great game tho! but as you've said, illinois simply had no answer for May, too big and too strong. Commentators also said he missed only one shot for the entire game.

yeh it got them back into the game but it was the reason they were down big in the first place and why they cudnt win down the stretch

Watched the replay last night, can anyone tell me why the heels didn't give the ball to May more?
If he missed only one shot for the entire game he didn't have enough shots!
He was unstoppable, i was screaming at the tv for every play to be run through him in the low block.
When he was doubled once & couldn't get a shot off he passed outside & got an assist on a 3.
He will be a very reliable pro baller, works hard and thinks a good game.
