NBL Round 3 Attendance

Here is Round 3

Hawks vs Blaze - 3,693 @ WECin Wollongong
36ers vs Kings - 4,495 @ AA in Adelaide
Tigers vs Breakers - 3,500 @ SNC in Melbourne
Crocs vs Wildcats - 3,594 @ TEC in Townsville
Kings vs Hawks - 3,556 @ SEC in Sydney

Very surprised at the crowd at the SEC last night. Considering the Kings thumped Adelaide and the Hawks got hosed by the Blaze on Friday I would have thought more would show, especially considering its really the closest thing to a local derby the NBL has.

Good to see a decent crowd at the Hawks - Blaze game and another Melbourne sellout with Patty Mills playing, though they would have anyway playing NZ IMO. Makes me wonder what sort of crowds Melbourne would be getting in a venue like Hisense Arena.

World Cup final, Sunday night. That game was never going to draw a crowd.

Agree. World cup and the 7:30pm Sunday night tip off were always going to affect crowd numbers.

So 58 or 59 thousand after 15 games. Just short of 4000 a game, just where it was at this time last year from memory.

Last years numbers in Adelaide and Sydney were a miracle given how bad the teams were, if they can start winning, well the NBL needs them to start winning doesnt it.

I agree, World Cup final and later Sunday tip off was going to effect the crowd numbers in Sydney, but the crowd that DID turn up was pretty vocal, which is a nice change, really... as an overall number, it isn't so bad, but as a percentage of the capacity, not the best, but still, could have been worse... some of those old Wednesday night games were shockers...

4500 for the sixers game, not a bad effort considering it was a friday night game with juniors on

Yeah I did forget to take into account the RWC Final but the crowd at the SEC last night was still disappointing considering it was Sydney and Wollongong.

I am not going to comment on the refs.
