Hoops FBL Elite League - Grand Final game 1

Official scores wont be in until tomorrow, but the unofficial scores are...

TR 438 lost to Statman 594
Lockie 393 defeated Beantown 351
Skip 435 defeated DB5 413
Bizzy 359 lost to Xztatik 435

It looks like Statman and Lockie will be playing off for the championship, while Bizzy and DB5 will be dropping to League two.

Don't forget, that everyone (other that the grand finalists) will be playing for the better draft spots.

skip are we getting relegated, as well as playing off for the worst picks in the second league? Have I read that correctly?

Fraid so. However, I am currently reviewing that as you are not the only person to bring it up.

I think I will turn it into a lottery to be fairer.

More on this later today.

Regardless, everyone should be playing to win this week.

Seems harsh with a double penalty of relegation and a dud draft pick.

k, due to some feedback, I have reviewed the draft process for next season and am now looking for feedback on this proposed System.

Please let me know your thoughts, and I will decide later today whether to make it official.

I will implement a draft lottery.

The intial order will be based on your total regular season score.

ELITE LEAGUE
alexkrad 4385 = 8 lottery entries
skip 4457 = 7 entries
Xztatik 4466 = 6 entries
Lockie 4536 = 5 entries
Flinders80 4619 = 4 entries
TR 4922 = 3 entries
Beantown 4934 = 2 entries
Statman 5016 = 1 entry

LEAGUE TWO
Pure Silk 4018 = 8 lottery entries
clarky 4045 = 7 entire
DB5 4250 = 6 entires
hendo8888 4512 = 5 entries
Bizzy 4660 = 4 entries
Isaac 5055 = 3 entries
Ox 5101 = 2 entries
BJF 5459 = 1 entry

All games during this fortnight are all for an additional 3 entries in the lottery with the exception of the Elite League grand finalists (they will only have their 2 & 1 entries)

DB5 & Bizzy

Also, please be aware, In the unlikely event that someone in the Elite League were to quit FBL prior to next season, the winner of you GF match would be reinstated in the Elite League.

Skip, I like the idea of a draft lottery. I'd prefer to go by final standings (positions after all finals, not table position prior to finals) for the initial number of entries rather than total number of points though.

As you can see, in both leagues some of the highest scoring teams didn't make the GF. Seems a bit harsh that a grand finalist should get 5 initial entries to a semi finalist's 2 or 3 entries for example.

You can still get around people throwing the final round through the method you propose of awarding extra entries to the winner of that round. Ie, I'm not gonna throw my game against TR, because I stand to leapfrog him and maybe Flinders in draft entries if I win, in spite of losing 1 entry by virtue of a higher placed finish.

Savvy? ;-)

Beantown - It's not based on where they finished on the ladder, it's based on their total points scored.
