NCAA D1 Rankings

Why are some players/parents so hung up on getting to a D1 program, when top D2 programs are better than D1 schools ranked below 150? Wouldnt the kids rather play than get 2 mins per game for the first 2 years?

Div 1 gets recognition by the NBA scouts.

Does anyone know of any player who was recruited to the NBA from a Div 2 college?

Devean George from NCAA D3.

Main issue is that parents/kids get caught up like it is ranked like juniors is over here. It's not a grading system

If the only reason a kid wants to play college ball is because he or she expects to end up in the NBA/WNBA I think there will be a lot of disappointed kids out there...

Div1 or Div2, or Junior College doesn't matter in the end because if a kid is good enough or improves, they can move up, all depends on their level of potential and work ethic.

Best advice I got was don't go to a college where they will draft over you, be reasonable and look for balance, a team and coaching ethos that will best fit the player to the program and vice versa.
