How many NBL roster spots are free?

Most rosters are looking complete with 8 or 9 players signed, I was just wondering how many roster spots are still free at NBL clubs and what type of player(s) the teams will sign?

Of course needs to be under the points/salary cap.

I think Sydney needs a backup SG, United need another big, Wollongong need a few guards, what else?

36ers: 2 spots left, one an import spot

Taipans: 1 import spot left

United: 2 import spots left

Breakers: 1 import spot left

Wildcats: 2 spots left, one an import spot

Kings: 1 spot left

Crocs: 1 spot left

Hawks: 2 spots left, one import spot

That is assuming the Hawks have re-signed Demos if not 3 spots left.

So 7 more imports and 5 more local players to make rosters.

Who would be the top 5 Aussie/NZ players who haven't been signed yet that would be NBL capable (not including all the Aussies playing in NBA/Euro/NCAA)?

Tom Daly? Deba George? Aaron Bruce?

Leon Henry is rumoured to be going to Townsville (legal stuff pending).

I'd also like to see Everard Bartlett get consistent minutes somewhere over the course of a season. I think he can contribute given the right situation.

Any reason why Montreal still isn't official?
Didn't he 'sign' over a week ago?

Must be something holding up the Montreal announcement as Joey said 2 weeks ago that an announcement would be made within a week.

Dillan was recruited by the Breakers but turned them down to resign in Europe.

Updated after the Stephen Dennis/DeAndre Daniels signings:

36ers: 2 spots left, one an import spot

Taipans: 1 import spot left

United: 1 import spot left

Breakers: 1 import spot left

Wildcats: 1 spot left

Kings: 1 spot left

Crocs: 1 spot left

Hawks: 2 spots left, one import spot

That is assuming the Hawks have re-signed Demos if not 3 spots left.

So 5 Aussie Roster spots, my wild guesses would be:

Adelaide - need a bench Guard - Tom Daly or Joel Naburgs. Would would Kyle Adnam be upgraded from DP?

Perth - need a bench guard - Drake U'u or Eric Burdon to resign for 1 spot?

Townsville - need a wing player who can contribute with 2 import bigs. I think
Daniel Dillon would be a good fit here to rotate with Blanchfield and Stiedl. If unavailable, a big risk would be Deba George. Safe bet would be Everard Bartlett

Wollongong - need a bench Guard - Joel Naburgs or Tom Daly

Sydney - Need a SF. This is the hardest spot to guess. Would they offer Jack McVeigh the spot without pay so he can keep his College Eligibility? He could learn from Childress. Deba George could slot in here. Not many free agent Aussie SF's doing well in SEABL. Maybe Dan Jackson?

My tip would be Tom Daly, Joel Naburgs, Drake U'u, Dan Dillon and Everard Bartlett to get spots.

The 5 Import spots I think would be
Adelaide - need a BIG
Cairns - need a PG
Wollongong - need a WING
NZ- either a WING or a BIG
United - either a BIG or a WING

I'm pretty sure after flirting with the Breakers Daniel Dillon re-signed with his team in Romania?

Pretty certain Daniel Dillon never flirted with the breakers. It was either Italy or Romania. His team in Romania came up with enough additional cash to keep him happy.

But I do remember one of the kiwi guys on here starting a thread about how Dillon had signed with the Breakers but balked at the last minute.

NZ's last spot is going to an Import PF/C.
A couple of guys who had decent NZNBL seasons have been looked at I guess Vickerman is just weighing up his options with overseas scouts.
