Potential mens and women's u17 aussie squads?

I know of a few standouts in both boys and girls.
Bines, elkaz and Fullarton. No bigs?
Simmons, magbegor and other adc invitees. (Seebohm coaching)

Who are the other players? What position, skill, size etc?

Maybe start with the other ADC invitees?

a few of them are born 99/2000 and eligible but not enough to make a full squad? The others are mainly born 98.

There were 10 (which is enough to form a squad for the Oceania qualifiers) at the ADC 2015

They were;
BInes 1999
Elkaz 1999
O'Carroll 1999
Fullerton 1999
Dalton 2000

Matthews-Hampton 2000
Dent 2000
Garang 1999
Johns 99/00??
Froling 2000

There is some height in
Dalton
Johns
Froling

There is good talent in
BInes
Elkaz
O'Carroll
Fullerton
Froling

and a super athlete who should be at the CoE to develop his basketball skills in
Garang

as per the photo on this page from the ADC 2015

http://www.lookergram.com/p/902626044048137158_1141115085

It shows Froling being slightly taller than Magney (list as 203cm at CoE) and Dalton about Magney's height.
that is;

Froling 6'9
Dalton 6'8

I don't know John's height, anybody know?

I assume they will pick at least a 20 person squad to start with.

which should include others (with some height) such as;
Chol Adup NSWM
Kevin Achampong NSWM
Matur Maluach NSWC
Brandon Freire NSWC
Jamie Hepburn WAM

Some of the girls from adc and good performers at the nationals.
Not sure there exact positions or if the heights are correct. 99-2000.

5'6 Axam/5'3 Cubillo/5'7 Abel/5'7 lehmann/5'6 swan
5'10 Simmons/5'11 mole/5'11 McLean
6'1 McKay/5'10 Fuiava/6'0 Rowe/5'11 motuga
6'3 Mcspadden/6'3 Rees/6'3 milisic
6'4 Magbegor/6'3 Bourne

If Tom Fullerton is only 6'5, Sam froling and magnay would have to be only 6'5-6'6.

To toss names around before Nationals really ? If they are good enough they will stand out.

^^ Tom is listed as 199cm on the CoE Facebook page which makes him almost 6'7
he is also standing at the front of the photo which 'gives the effect' of making him (comparatively) taller (than his actually is) compared to the other guys at the back
I'd say
Froling 6'9
Dalton 6'8
is about right

You will see two boys playing for Vic at u/18 nationals about 6'10" with plenty of game.

How many bottom age NITP athletes going to u/18 Nationals ? and that would give you a good starting point.

Lots of hype around bottom age Johns from Country Vic. We will all see in one week.

I'm sure every State will have at least one
or two bottom age stand outs at Nationals in both boys and girls.

Everyone that was there says the stand out girl at the ADC was a 6'4" 14yo.

She would be bottom age but outperformed the much older girls at the camp.

Magbegor is the tallest female we have I thought for that age bracket. 6'3-6'4.
Would be good to know if there's another quality centre available for u17.

There could be potential kids who have developed and weren't at the Aus Camp ?? This is an age especially with boys who grow and change so quickly !!

Why is Froling mentioned for the next u/17 squad when he will be in the U/19 age bracket? He already went to the u/17 worlds and they are two years apart, so he now misses out this time around due to his age. Get it right!

Oh, of course there are more of them. Fair enough, he will also have his place at the CoE I am sure. Therefore he will get in. Just pick all the CoE list and you will have the team, too easy.

at that age there probably picked on potential. We can also assume that Sam will be a big boy like his brother and sisters. Size being something we lack in that age group?
I don't think the Coe boys/girls u17 will be picked on that alone. We will see what happens in a week with the u18 national champs (2000 and younger players) and then the u16s which I think is in June/July.

u/18 Nationals this week is mostly 1998 and some 1999 born I would predict.

Yes your right I would have thought any bottom age 99 born kids chosen to play at Nationals would be the best for their age in each State. Why would they really look at 2000 if they have enough talent with kids born in 99. I could be wrong but I wouldn't think that this is a development team ?.

So is it the girls & boys born 1999 who will be selected for the u/17 Aus team, how are they selected ?, is it through the u:18 nationals coming up ??

If it's not at Nationals how are these kids selected ? Do they have to be NITP players

Can't see NITP players making it.

If I was selecting, and I am absolutely not, the inputs would be in order:
Current CoE
Auscamp from January
Bottome age u18 Nationals
Top age u16 Nationals

NPP, maybe but not NITP.

in my opinion i think the boys team will mainly consist of nsw metro and country, vic metro and queensland south players. Don't see anyone from act,wa,sa,nt country and metro making it.

Some of the 2000-born boys showed themselves to be serious candidates at u16 Nationals last year. A number of the best players at the tournament were 2000-born and most of those names have been mentioned here already as ADC invitees.

^ Sheep, what on earth is that based on? There is a '99-born boy from WA Metro who was injured at Nationals last year but received an ADC invite. SA Country sent a 2000-born boy to the January ADC, and so did Qld North.

I'm guessing if the 2000 born kids are better they will be picked. Lots of them will be ready to win an Oceania series, particluarly the girls where there is very little opoosition.

Who are the 2000 born women for aus?
Nz mens and women's are no pushovers anymore at any age except for there women's senior team currently. A bunch of good young prospects coming through for them.

I don't expect any younger than 1999 anon. Most will be 1998, bottom age will be 1999 and 2000 born will be at 16 Nationals in July or June.

1998 are too old.

It is 1999 and 2000.

In the women's a 2000 Aus team would go VERY well against a 1999 Aus team. Remeber at Nationals last year the many of the players in the gold medal game on the court were 2000 born. And if Vic Metro had taken some more of their 2000 crew, who knows.

And as far as NZ is concerned, their team from this age group was uncompeteitive against the state teams in Geelong. Imagine what happens when they face an Aus team.

Probably only two or three 99 per State at Nationals ??
Lot would not be going.
