Jason Cadee and Europe

Once hyped as one of the worlds great junior guards. Does he have a career ahead of him in Europe? Or is he destined to be a long term NBL journey man?

I rate him as a player but has the build of a 12 year old girl.

Jason "Mungo" Cadee would need a passport in Europe imo to make. Could perform as a tier 2 pg on a solid Euroleague team

Just about any nbl player can go to 'Europe'. Although there are a lot of mid tier leagues worse then the NBL in money and playing standard.

Hyped as one of the worlds great junior guards? He went to the Nike Hoops Summit in 2010 and went to the Under 19 worlds in NZ in 2009, but you should calm down a little.

Well journey isn't the word, he just resigned with the same team. Think NBL is his ceiling, people get hyped up all the time but doesn't mean they will be superstars. For what its worth the 36ers missed his punch off the bench big time the season just gone.

It probably also means that the NBL is a very high quality league

I am glad somebody has said it. Everyone in the NBL could play in Europe somewhere. It is a massive continent with a ridiculous amount of leagues in it of varying qualities. Even Scott Christopherson landed in Belarus after his 36er stint. I think when we talk Europe, we should specify what league or level of league we mean.

Could Cadee play on a Euroleague team? If he were lucky enough to be selected he could warm the bench somewhere but he wouldn't be a rotation guy. Fact is, there are a fair few Cadee's out there, and he is up against it for a spot in a good comp. Answer would lean towards no -

Could he play Adriatic league where Mark Worthington is heading to apparently? I would say so, yes.

People need to stop thinking that the entirety of Euro Basketball is better than the NBL - it is simply not true. Under Eurocup and Euroleague, the NBL has great parity with the rest of the leagues.

Hasn't been very consistent at all at NBL level. Nowhere near decent European team atm. Still young enough to improve though. This year is his big chance. Madgen gone means that Sydney could be more likely to pursue SG and SF imports and then allow Cadee to start.

Breakers would hold their own in the Euroleague.. Probably top 6 in the spanish league too.

cadee was in a very serious car crash people quickly forget. so to come back from that and have a professional career in a strong league like the NBL alone is impressive.

Good call Sammy.

I actually quite like him as a player and don't think he'll be a journeyman by any stretch. A stint in Europe might do him well.

It all really comes down to the League/Country as previously stated. In most leagues - unless he can claim dual citizenship - he would be an import. Most leagues only allow 2 imports per team. Imports (in the majority of cases) ex USA players with NBA or college experience. The question then becomes "Is he good enough to replace a player of that calibre"? Not sure that would be the case. Even though he had a serious accident IMO he never really reached the hype of being the son of two ex Australian basketball legends.
