VJBL Results Slow in Going Up

We live in the year 2015 and out of a possible 90 VC and VC Reserve results, only 12 are up the next morning, not one 16's, 18's or 20's result to be found.

I don't get know if it's a VJBL problem or the clubs just don't put through results, but surely we live in a world where they can be up within half an hour after the last game. But as the issue is across all clubs from 16's through 20's I'd have to assume to it a VJBL issue.

Normally up around 10am. This may be when the system is timed to update.

Yes 677 you are correct, home clubs do put up results, but even 3 or 4 years ago you'd get an update at about 11pm with most of the results. How here we are after 10am the next day and still nothing.

Again, it's 2015. Is it a Sportspulse problem, or the VJBL just not bothering to push the update button.

Adds weight to Stadium Electronic scoring. This is one thing BVC has pushed. All Country Associations applying for major tournaments must have electronic scoring. Come on VJBL and United role out stadium scoring with that sponsorship.

^ Are you serious? That means that they'd have to spend some money ........... seems to me they still have their first dollar super glued to the inside of their wallets!

Have you simply tried asking the VJBL admin team what needs to be done before the scores can be published? If you have you will realize as indicated in the posts above that it is often the Home Association that is slow in inputting results. Also you will notice a pattern of one or two associations that do not input scores on the night. Stadium Scoring is not the answer either. That would mean that every court has equipment and working internet connections. That all games are loaded BEFORE the game, and that there are no changes to teams on the night (Yes the system should handle that but you are now asking a lot of parents to know how to use a complex system). You also are expecting that Associations will sign up to the News Corp T&C which are not as "generous" as you would think...or not if you are a bit cynical about Rupert...

For the size of the competition and number of teams the overall team, VJBL and Associations, do a great job. Can it be better. Sure. But rather than bitch here, get involved. Offer your time and energy....Start at your club level...no-one will knock you back!

Falcons Tv you cant be serious saying the it could be the Associations that are slow getting results in? How many Associations would be putting in resuts?
I would think maybe 60 to 80 could even be more and your suggesting that so many are slow getting them in. Using homing pigeons would faster!!!! Get your act together Vjbl or Sporting pulse. We are sent all over the place on Friday nights and we deserve better. And your comment about stopping whinging and helping out - well dont the VJBL people get paid??????

probably those couple of associations that are repeat offenders are the same associations that turn the lights out minutes after the final buzzer of the last games of the night.

This would only have to be rolled out once. Its also easier to work an electronic system than it is to do the manual scoresheet. Refs will know how to change players' numbers or delete a player who doesn't turn up that night for a game. The more experienced parents will also know this system from domestic games & the associations that already have tablets in place for domestic games( Whittlesea & Diamond Valley come to mind) will only need extra software loaded.

These results can then not only be updated on the website on the night, but straight after a match.

I suppose since none of Waverley's results from any of their games yesterday have been uploaded, perhaps Waverley TV you are one of the associations you speak of?

Come on mate, these people are paid professionals, it's now 24 hours after the games and nothing.

I follow kids footy on a Sunday and they manage to get all game results up generally within an hour of the last game.

That's crap blaming home Associations. Our scores get entered straight after games, yet are not published on many occasions until the following Monday.

Who is the "paid professional's"? Not the clubs or the league. This is all run on the basis of volunteers and a few part time administration staff. IMO, the paid professional's at BV would be hard stretched to land a job in the corporate sector.

I noticed the Eastern Footy League, the Northern Footy League, the Yarra Junior Footy League and Big V all had their Sunday results up within about 2 hours of the finish of their last game. And they all use Foxsportspulse so that would suggest that it isn't a problem from their end. And isn't Big V based in the same building as VJBL?

IMO I just think its poor form. To suggest people volunteer to help is also poor form, the associations that I know all put their results in immediately following the games on Friday night. To wait until Sunday afternoon is just poor service.

Maybe those other leagues have a better way of enforcing use of the system by the clubs?

If the VJBL are not tough by use of fines etc then the result is going to be pretty poor.

I noticed this at the time and realised it was an issue across the whole VBJL site, obviously not just a one Association thing, results were eventually posted once the VJBL cleared up whatever the technical issue was, nothing to do with what is being posted...
