Torrey Craig's NBA chances

He's playing Summer League for Denver. Had 27 and 11 today.

Brisbane might want a back up plan.

Haven't had a chance to see him play in SL yet. Is he playing the 3 or small ball 4? He fits a similar mold to Prather albeit a bit of a bigger guy. Great defender/athletic slasher type but struggles from the outside in an NBA game.

He's having a blinder of a game. Came off the bench still but clearly he's the main factor behind their first win in Vegas.

Also recorded 3 blocks! Shot 8/11 FG and made 10/11 FT. The coaches were already raving about his defense and he took it to another level. Yep the Bullets may have to start plan B now.

Torey Craig highligts:

The issue with Denver is that they do not have a G-League affiliate team so they cannot offer the new CBA "two-way contracts". So Craig would have to join them on a guaranteed contract.

Teams without a G-League affiliate can still sign two-way contracts:
The four teams without a G League affiliate — Portland Trail Blazers, Washington Wizards, Denver Nuggets and New Orleans Pelicans — can still sign players to two-way contracts. When they assign them to the G League they will use the flex assignment rule.

Flex Assignment Rule — Upon receipt of an assignment from an independent NBA team, the NBA G League will identify any NBA G League team willing to accept the assigned player. The assigning independent NBA team will then choose the destination for assignment between those teams. If no NBA G League team is willing to accept the assigned player, he will be assigned to one of the hybrid affiliate teams pursuant to a lottery.

Micah Nori said he will get an NBA opportunity whether it be with Denver or another team.

Should he fail to get an NBA call-up, I think he has tremendously boosted his stock to the point where it is very unlikely we will see him return to the NBL. Him and his agent would be fielding plenty of interest from Europe as well by now.

I guess the good thing for Brisbane is getting a contract buy-out to make up for losing him. Hard to replace everything he does though, he has really grown into the league and knows it inside-out.
