A Channel 9 insider has informed me that the average viewership for each NBL game on 9Go this weekend was "around 65 thousand each", and that this was a reasonably impressive result.
That sounds pretty good compared to the much smaller Foxtel numbers I recall seeing mentioned around here for other games

Did you know that only a 3rd or perhaps less of our Australian population have Foxtel?
Foxtel is crap.
Virtually everything they show is utter shit. It's way overpriced. And Rupert Murdoch is a scumbag who won't ever have my money.

Obviously 9Go is attracting a larger audience than Fox.
How many watched the first round games on sbs last season? Pretty sure well less than 65k per game.
Early signs positive. I still want to see the figures after 1 month.
Would these numbers (if sustained) appeal to sponsors, advertisers and other corporate interest for the league?
Would these numbers (if sustained) help franchises sell tickets, mercy and sponsorships?
If yes to above questions, then it's been successful.
