Agree on the youngsters, I'd like to see Froling make it. Squad should be a mix of vets and youth - vets to get us the W, and youth to gauge what we've got in the pipeline.

When the real games start these pipeline kids won't even get a blink of the eye.

Boomers can't afford to sleep on Iran. They were the runners up at the Asia Championships and proved that they could withstand that trademark Boomers intensity, coming from a Boomers squad that was actually pretty good. Yes, they lost, but they made the Boomers work.

Player for player Iran will be outmatched, but seeing as there are no lead in games or warm up games, and seeing as each game is important, you don't want to be in a situation where you lose because you wanted to blood talent.

Against Qatar Australia can probably relax a little bit more, and follow the AngusH general guideline. So I'd like to see two teams and there will probably be enough space between games to do so.

Team vs. Iran

Cam Bairstow
Todd Blanchfield
Angus Brandt
Mitch Creek
Chris Goulding
Cam Gliddon
Daniel Johnson
Nick Kay
Mitch McCarron
Brad Newley
Mitch Norton
Nathan Sobey

Team vs. Qatar

Cam Bairstow
Nick Kay
Todd Blanchfield
Chris Goulding
Nathan Sobey
Mitch Creek
Mitch McCarron
Jason Cadee
Harry Frolling
Craig Moller
Anthony Drmic
David Barlow (Yeah he's old as hell, but has good athleticism, length, hits the three).

I'm worried about Lemanis vs. Iran. This is not a spud team. As above said a quality team and a far inferior Japan beat us and he acted all chilled out as if everything was all good, he better have learned from the experience.

Japan beat Iran 70-56 in the last window.

There is no doubt Iran in Iran will present a serious challenge, but I think the Boomers showed in the Asia Cup final when they can apply heat to Iran's guards it dries up supply to Ehadadi pretty effectively and I expect them to do that pretty well in Melbourne.

Sobey- Norton - McCarron
Goulding- Gliddon- McCarron
Blanchfield- Newley- Moller
Kay- Johnson- Moller
Brandt- Johnson- Froling.

Won't happen but I like the depth and versatility of this squad, has some old heads plus form players with youth for future.

Squad named after today's NBL games.
Brandt and Martin and possibly Barlow will be ruled out with injuries.

Will Creek's G League team release him is another question.

Would creek even want to play? I don't see how a couple of games against average countries helps his NBA ambitions. Better off just staying with his G-league side.

I agree anon. Also don't see the point of having older reserve NBL guys like Wagstaff or Jervis in the side.
Blood more youngsters like Froling.

Best 3 point shooter in the league, and getting better.

I hope they don't take Wagstaff, he needs his rest.
