What happened to the talk about no parity

The haters became quiet real quick. Very close season. Everyone said Sydney and Melbourne would dominate

They will. Melbourne are helping Perth eliminate Adelaide for the betterment of the league.

The lack of parity was mainly how much less the two regional teams can spend on their roster, and that definately shows.

Cairns are where they belong and Illawarra happen to have the best coach in the league but still are only a slim chance of making the playoffs.

If Bevo and Gaze switched teams Sydney would be clearly on top and the Hawks would be down equal with Cairns.

Yep the competition sure is close, cos here again we have a great nominee for "Stupidest Thread of the Season."

Nobody ever said "Sydney and Melbourne would dominate"

If fact, apart from Perth going extremely well then extremely bad, the ladder looks pretty much as we would have thought.

We all thought Sydney and Melbourne would make it comfortably, and they have.
We mostly thought Perth would make it as they always do, and they're still on target for that.
Adelaide were always going to give things a shake, and they have.

Really only the major point of contention was how well NZ & Brissy would do.
Certainly Bris have done better than I expected, and NZ has done worse than many expected.

In regards to the question of Parity, what "Everyone" actually said was that Illawarra and Cairns would suck balls, and they have.

We needn't worry about Cairns.

Mark Beecroft is on record saying the NBL won't leave Cairns behind and they can compete.

Cairns aren't at the bottom because of a lack of resources. Just some poor decisions.

Cairns are 3-17. That's surely not just bad decisions.

Needs a clean out. 3-17 is unacceptable for any team in the league. No young players and the team was given to a rookie head coach with no culture of stability behind it. 3 players remaining on the roster and one of them Kuany Kuany who most likely won't be in the league next year. There needs to be accountability for this situation. "We are poor" won't cut the mustard after Fearne was more than competitive for 10 years with the same resources.

Kuany was signed by Fearne, genius.

Cairns top level players would be wanted on most teams. I'm talking Trimble, Newbill and Jawai. It is the backups that they really stuffed up. Lucas Walker, Kenny, DKD, Mitch Young? Ouch.

Poor decisions on these bottom end players is not the result of lack of resources.

Why do you think it's more likely that they overspent on crap players than that they couldn't afford better ones?
