I said old news too but got shot down by resident forum troll Perthworld.

Still it's hardly a scoop, let Perthworld enjoy his forum.

Great player and great highlights but a liability on d. Still wouldn't mind a player like his calubare.

If Vickerman can get Long to play decent man-to-man D, then Melbourne will win the 'ship. None of this zone carryon with the Breakers thanks.

Considering MU came out and officially denied he had signed, his eventual signing is hardly "old news."

Be interested to know what the delay was, and the eventual resolution.

I'm a big wrap for Long, I felt he was the best big-man in the NBL this season.
But whilst he is clearly a star signing, it's a weird one for MU.

Unless they think he can also play the 4 (???) they are extremely weak there. They've got Barlow, who showed this season that he can't run out a full season, and faded faster than a Bali tee-shirt.

I guess we have to wait and see who their 3rd import is...

I'll take it like it's not old news... as I still felt like Perth could still nab him out of nowhere.

Who will Perth aim for now, are they after a low post presence that offers rim protection like Long or go for someone vastly different?

Good get for United and looking forward to seeing Boone and Long go at each other next season, should be fun.

As situations like Greenwood's, Paul Rogers', CJ Bruton's, Sobey's this year show, expectations, no matter how strong the supporting facts, don't always pan out.

Given that, I'll take news of official signing as worth posting.
