The 36ers has announced Steven Marshall as the #1 ticket holder.
This seems like another blunder from 36ers management. Why put at risk alienating non rusted on liberal voters by brining politics into sport?
It seems like a move that is all risk and no reward, why do this?

Isn't the 36ers owner dating a Liberal politician? Makes sense especially if he's angling for a Memorial Drive upgrade as some on here have suggested was behind the move to leave TSA and temporarily move to the AEC. Labor were in power for 16 years and won't be getting back in anytime soon.

Maybe he’s bought his own season ticket out of 1 of his allowances? If so, he might pay again next season. Smart move perhaps.
If anyone feels alienated because the 6ers have the State's Premier as the number 1 ticket holder they probably need to worry about more important things.

Can't say I'm a fan of the move, but if his fandom is anything like his work as premier, we probably won't see him at games anyway, which the Advertiser will no doubt blame Jay Weatherill for.

Politics aside, I doubt Marshall is that divisive that the move will alienate fans. To say it is sounds dumb

Different, normally a sports star or successful business person. But if he can deliver on getting new purpose built arena then it's all good.
