NBA MVP?

All the usual suspects like Lebron, Giannis, Harden etc are favourites. But was thinking about Chris Paul's case for it. Thunder were given no chance of making playoffs and looking at total rebuild with young players and picks, Paul expected to be moved for picks as well. But they have totally surprised, would they be anywhere near here without his veteran leadership. The youngsters have stepped up but would they have without him.

Chris Paul was playing well but not at MVP level.

No.

I mean, everything you say is correct. But there are too many better players have better seasons on better teams for Paul to even come close to winning it.

Always thought he was one of greatest point guards of all time but as a person a bit of a Dick. Sort of thought it was karma he got shafted out of Houston but amazing how they've come together in OKC. Problem is management would have been hoping to tank for a young franchise player in draft. Now they have middle of road team, year older CP whose untradeable because of contract and refusal to take pay cut to go to contender.

Greek Freak by a long way...the Le Bron narrative was just that a narrative but comparing the numbers its not even close!

An MVP narrative is never just a narrative. It can sometimes determine the outcome, as happened in 1998 with Malone getting the award over Jordan. But yes, the narrative was killed off by the season suddenly stopping. So, Giannis is the likely winner.

To be fair is OKC's team really even that bad?

Remind me a little of a poor mans 2011 Mavs team.

Paul is Kidd: Vet Hall of Fame Point Guard
Adams is Chandler: Elite Interior Defender and Roller
Gallo is Dirk: Veteran Elite Scorer
Schroeder is Terry: Elite Bench Scorer
