That's what I read as well? Would be huge signing if it play’s out, cotton not going to get citizenship or unless he has had they don’t want to get another import?

COVID has hit every one in dollar wise and maybe they think they can pull an upset on a way to a three peat?

Didn’t spend big other than cotton and maybe Mooney?

Two weeks from today is the cutoff to be playoff-eligible, as far as I know, so they're not getting anyone who isn't in the country already.

Interesting, says he's going to have minor foot surgery, then try and get another NBA contract before the season finishes and then will stay in the US for the Boomers camp in Las Vegas, waits until the Bullets sign a replacement for Vic Law and now supposedly already back here quarantining, sounds like he wasn't too keen to go back to the Bullets.

Cook had to sit on kings bench, suited up ready to play against Illawarra last week to allow him to qualify, I believe it's a minimum of eleven games. Kings have ten games left plus one Cooks sat on bench makes eleven.
Magnay plays this weekend or he out.

Maybe they wanted to have the option of not suiting him up once or twice - not taking him on the road unnecessarily and interfering with rehab or treatment for example, or being able to suit up an extra healthy player on a three game weekend - so they started suiting him up early so they had that flexibility.

Kings following the rules, he's obviously not that far away so they are making sure he qualifies. Considering the injuries they have suffered all season I’d say it’s smart.

Probably much like Kay with Perth, if he came back from Europe this season Perth would own his rights but he could be released from that by the club.
So Brisbane may be in the same situation but may not want to pay him if they can't make the playoffs. Would be simply paying him a heap to not play for the opposition.

So Magnay seems like a more logical centre than Mooney but Mooney has dominated this season in part because of how he matches up against taller and slower opponents, could this nullify his effectiveness?

What will Perth do with some rim protection in the team, it's been a great weakness for a very long time.

Former Brisbane Bullets big man Will Magnay is set to join defending champions Perth following his brief NBA stint as long as he can receive a clearance from the Bullets, who own his contractual rights.

The NCA NewsWire can reveal the Bullets hold the rights to Magnay, and as agreed upon his departure to America to sign a two-way deal with the New Orleans Pelicans in November last year, the club would require a buyout figure for the centre to sign with another NBL team.

It's understood his management are currently weighing up the buyout, with a decision expected within days.

This could open the door for Magnay to join the Wildcats to finish the NBL season and prepare for this year’s Tokyo Olympics.

I get sick of Perth taking advantage of their members. No wonder they keep winning, money and greed!

By far Perth have the most expensive memberships in the NBL. They have no concession options for students and members with a disability. They need to support all supporters not just rich people who can go.

This why the NBL made a massive mistake bringing in another Melbourne team. Phoenix barely get 4,000 spectators to their games. If the NBL considered another Perth team then the members who can't afford Wildcats games could go and see the new team with affordable prices.

If the money is getting put towards putting an entertaining (winning) product on the floor, I can live with that. After all, it is entertainment expenditure.

This thread sure took a weird turn.
It's one thing for people to not want a former Brisbane player to sign with Perth. It's a whole other thing to be sickened by an NBL club putting a good enough product on the floor that a LOT of people want to attend despite the ticket prices being high. I would have thought that being popular with fans is what all NBL clubs should be aspiring to.

Very weird. If money's too tight to mention keep it to yourself. If you can't afford to attend watch it on TV.

NBL tix are super pricey, it's all well and good to use a curve to figure out how to maximise revenue via ticket cost, but what they might not consider is how locking out a market will cost you.

Adelaide Crows have this issue in a way because it’s so hard to get tickets, they have so many members it drives people to Port where it’s easier to access a game.

What happens when the oldies die or you want to fill an expanded capacity?
