NBA Pre-Season games underway

Giddey started for the Thunder. 8/3/2 in 13 minutes so far. 4/7 FG, 0/2 3P.

Landale has hit the court for the Spurs.

Giddey 16/5/3 with a quarter to play. Has hit a couple of threes now.

Giddey's performance has been really encouraging. He's hit some floaters, tough lay ups, some threes, some nice passes. This is his first ever NBA game basically. yeah, it's pre-season but it could be easy for him to be overawed by the occasion. Looks like he's ready to get to work.

Putting on my Boomers cap, the future looks bright with this kid around.

Looks like it's easier for him to score in the NBA than in the NBL.

Well, he replaces Delly as starting PG, no question. As for backup guard, I am not seeing anyone right now who is taking that spot from Delly.

#889 - Exum is better than Delly now. I would say Green will also be better than Delly come next World Cup and Olympics

Listing some guys that dont play the same position there.

International teams usually go for 3 point guards. You've got Giddey, Exum and then who?

Let's drop the Ben Simmons fantasy right now. At absolute most he'd only play one of the 2023/24 tournaments, and his chance of doing that without something coming up is probably 1 in 50. The Boomers shouldn't plan around Ben being there.

Delly are how I see the PG standings panning out.

Then you've got Mills who can step in, Ingles who can step in.

Green and Daniels aren't point guards.

I think we take largely the same team we took to Tokyo with Reath, Sobey and Goulding replaced by Giddey, Daniels and one of Maker or Humphries.
