How many players tested positive? The league made the Breakers play.

I believe the rule was that if you could suit up 5 players the game goes ahead.

Tonight's game between the Illawarra Hawks and South East Melbourne Phoenix has been postponed after positive COVID cases were returned from the Hawks.

All Illawarra players and staff are double vaccinated.

The decision to postpone the game at the WIN Entertainment Centre has been made in line with the NBL’s COVID health and safety protocols.

The health and safety of the players, coaches, clubs, staff and fans is the League’s number one priority when considering these matters.

The NBL will continue to follow the advice of governments and health authorities and further testing will be carried out on any individuals impacted or those deemed close contacts

I would imagine all the Hawks players would be considered close contacts and therefore are unlikely to get their results back prior to tonight, hence the postponing of the match?

I'm not aware of the circumstances of when Dan tested positive and the subsequent events, so could you elaborate on this? Why would they be furious?

Their postponement request for their match against SEM was promptly denied by the league.

Shamir, Besson and Wetzell were all confirmed to have it.
