Really doesn't deserve it Imo. Highly overated.

Wnba Coaching regular season career
282 games
164 wins
128 losses
56% win rate

Wnba coaching playoff season career
45 games
24 wins
21 losses
53% win rate

Had 3 usa n.t starters for 5 of the 9 seasons.
1 championship in 9 seasons.
1 runner up in 9 seasons.
4 losses in semi finals in 9 seasons, finishing 4th.

Shouldnt be opals coach either with 63% win rate.

Melbourne, draft & stash here for 2 more years like Ezi

Possibly. Wnba drafts don't go deep, usually only 8 players survive each year out of 36.
Likely Melbourne will be picked, stashed or pushed out quickly like heal.

Would have to be a pretty interesting definition of "survive" for that to be true

Evident the clubs have no idea.

Wade hc of chicago had 3 good picks and let them all go for players drafted higher in same year.

2021 draft

Still in
Onyewere #6 rookie of year
Evans #13
Slocum #14
Richards #17
Carrington #20

Out on way out
Dungee #5
Heal #8
Watts #10

Previous rookie of year was Dangerfield #16

You can not cherry pick in the wnba.
You can not assume you can drive and throw up hail marys because there are 6ft8 plus shot blockers like Brit Griner in the wnba.
Heal tore up the wnbl last year and got shoved out early, Melbourne is no Heal.

Not sayin she's heal, but they are both good at different things. The simple fact is Melbourne is on every draft board from #14-#32.
I don’t think she’ll make a team but she will be drafted Imo and likely stashed.

Aaaaaaaaand ... Liberty as 7th seed were knocked out in 3 by Chicago the 2nd seed.

Will Sandy keep her job? Would it be better for the Opals if she didn't?

Time will tell, I don't see Sandy getting ousted from NY.

Opals though... Failure at a home WC on top of failure in Tokyo and a very poor last 3 years should result in a massive change of both players and coaches before 2024 Olympics.
