CRVENA ZVEZDA MTS releases Jaylen Adams

CRVENA ZVEZDA MTS have releases Jaylen Adams only after a 3 game stint shooting 25% and averaging 5.7 points- he would be a great solution for few NBL teams right about now!

He won't be cheap, Perth, Illawarra, even United, Brisbane could use him. The man can pass, score and plays ok D.
It just shows you how tough and serious the euro league competition is though.

Him and Cotton as starting guards for cats, Thomas at five, Manek at four, either travers or even maybe Norton at three for defence. Rotate from there.

You definitely have one too many Americans in the team at that point. Unless Manek becomes a Next Star...

Yeah 3 games

In europe depending on level of league, american imports are expected to produce immediately. I would imagine this is also similar in Asian leagues

On a team like Perth you lose Manek, and gain an elite scorer , elite passer who should fill out the gap around the back court. Norton taking more off a 6th man type role off the bench to come on an play a bit of hussle defence for short bursts

I suspect with Adams in the team the remaining players would benefit from a legit shot creator and elite passer to improve their games as a result.

The pressure off Cottons shoulders would also be noticeable.

Yeah they have a reputation for being extremely uncompromising.
If the nbl had more money, we'd get the best imports and subsequently our locals would develop into better players, I mean, who'd really want to play in Europe with ridiculously unrealistic expections and zero tolerance?
Not to mention a generally nicer environment and culture here in Aust

It's more how ruthless it is. Adams clearly has the talent to play at that level, but there is no margin for error for imports if the team decides things aren't working.

NBL teams much more willing to put the ball in import PG's hands and let them play than in most high level Euro leagues where they are expected to slot into the system - which is often fair enough, a lot of successful and wealthy teams aren't looking for an import PG to come in and score 20ppg with the other talent they have on the roster.

After three games last year Adams was shooting 32%. A similarly harsh environment and he may have been moved on.

Yeah I was just about to say that I recall he took some time to find his feet last season too.

JA operates well with a proper spacing. It was hard for him to create when Red Star basically has no shooters on the wings so everyone was packing the key. Now they got another import PG and a local PG just recovered and both are better 3 point shooters than JA so there was no room him. I still think they should have given him a chance. Anyway his agent will look after him very well.

Listed company buys a team in the NBL AND needs to show a profit. What could possibly go wrong?
