NBL1 Salary Cap

For those who care- NBL1 salary cap is 70k per team, per season and they can have 1 marquee player who only counts for a 10k contract and pay them as much as they want! aka Devondrick who is on a package well over 100k! It's also a 25k buy in fee each season per team, they pay NBL1.

If you are paying $70k in salary for a NBL1 team you are going to go broke very quickly unless you have some serious sponsers!

There are many many teams across the country paying more than that

especially teams like Mt G and Geelong , $10 to watch pioneers play at the new stadium , that's $10,000 per week in ticket revenue min, plus sponsors, 11 home games , do the math's , top end southern conference teams paying anything from 100,000 to 250,000 on teams , most would be arounf the 750,000 mark

player payments
flights
insurances
cars
accommodation

Even if Devondrick is only counting as $10k...

There is no way Combs, Nelson, Jarvis and Godfrey are paid within $60k.
Can't imagine the Beard brothers and Durnin are playing for free either.

That said, the Flames with an average of 1,500 for most games ($15 adults, $8 kids), and 12+ corporate boxes are scrimping to get to $70k.

Other revenue... Rocko districts players are $1,710 per team. They have 38 teams in u'14 Boys alone. So for any team, that's at least $86 per game, less court hire at $12 (half per team), less ref fees at $18 (half per team)... there's $45 fat per team per game there.

U'14 boys alone would be contributing around $1,700 per week to Rocko's coffers.

Other teams, I know one of the Cougars imports is on $80k.

I know for a fact that Courtney is on 20k and Taj is on 10k, Ducky is on 8k, etc- not 80k! They also get a car and accom at the assistant coaches house paid for!
Don't know about the rest of the team.

I genuinely doubt many NBL1 WEST clubs would spend anywhere near $70k per team. That being said, would be keen to see the books, especially those of Wolves, Flames, Redbacks NBL1 Men.
Why aren't the caps or overall spends made public? Does the NBL1 admin have oversight on them?

People overestimate NBL1 salaries by a truly ridiculous amount. Almost nobody is making five figures, never mind high five figures.

During the Etto era Wolves players who were locals and starting received $350 per game and that was at the highest paying club. $ always gets inflated online.

Half the NBL1 South is spending around the 100k mark per team (mens and womens each)
With some numbers well beyond that and around the 200k ball park.

McBlurter, if you think one of the Cougars imports is on 80k then you should take your crack pipe back and get a refund. You're off your head.
