State Champion Club

It's more than a month out.
Predictions for champion clubs.

So here goes

10G-Southern/Nwd
10b- Sturt/ west

12G- forrestville/North
12b- Sturt/North

14G- Forrestville/Sturt
14B- Sturt/West

16G- Sturt/Norwood/North ??
16B- Sturt/West

18G- west/North
18b- Norwood/Sturt

21G- Norwood/West
20b- Norwood/west

Interesting to see how close.
If these are close Westies would not win but by size of club it would br excellent result!!

Hard too see how Sturt won't win.
Norwood second
West Third?

Are final wins in 18's and 21's worth more than 14's and 16's still or did they change that rule?

Last time I looked They were all the same.
I will stand corrected though.
Dont Krow that west could win that much though.

I remember that older age groups were worth more points, hence if you had a strong U20's group in male and female, you fared well in champs more so than strong U10's and U12's.

State champs points are all equal.

1st 5
2nd 3
3rd 2
4th 1

This applies to all grades, both reserve and State.

Indiana agree with you except

Under 10 Girls Woodville/Norwood
Under 14 Boys Sturt/South

Also 20 teams will get a lot of ABL players back so this could change what happens here.

Jesz, west would be real close if sturt drop just one, Reserves would get them through.

North and Sturt will fight out the girls and Sturt will win the boys and Overall.

The reserve points are seperate and don't count towards overall State. Sturt I would think they will win all of the reserve. In the 20s North and Sturt will fight out the girls and in the Boys it will be North to win easily over Norwood/West or Southern.

Thought tens were in? I did here that a decision was being made this week. It is good that only one reserve grade will be playing.

up to 16 teams per reserves grade?

that puts a bit of prestige on the reserves title - will be an effort to get through it all & a bit of luck!

but that balances it up a bit - the second div 2 teams that were playing reserves 2 - were romping it in

If you want to base results on Summer Season (which is dangerous, I know, but at least it's a guide) then this is how the grades stack up (this is assuming there are NO U10s and that clubs can have 2 teams scoring points in reserves).

Championship :

Boys : Sturt 17 points, Norwood 10, North & West 7
Girls : Sturt 14, North 11, Forestville 9
Overall : Sturt 31, North 18, Norwood 17, Forestville 15, West 14

Reserves :

Boys : Sturt 29, Forestville 9, North 8
Girls : Sturt & North 14, Southern 8
Overall : Sturt 43, North 22, Forestville 14, West 11, Southern 10

So Sturt look reasonably comfortable (even moreso if U10s are inculded) but there's still plenty of opportunity for North in both girls grades.

Anything can happen!

Indiana,

North 12 girls are top and their 10s beat Southern the other week so i think they will get points. Their 14 girls are also improving.

'No player that has played in Div 1 3 weeks prior to State Champs shall play reserve.'

This can't be true. Almost every team will have players coming down from the ABL team to play in the under 20 comp. What are the regular season div 1 players supposed to do?

Jimmy,

How many clubs will have ABL players coming back into their U20s (or U21 girls) that don't already play?

Forestville might have Duke playing in the girls? I don't know if Lalic lines up for Tigers U20s, but maybe him? Who else? I can't think of too many others. Everyone else playing ABL from the boys side that I can think of (Papendiek, Rowe, Dodman, Clausen, Craddock etc.) are all playing U20s currently anyways, aren't they?

Are the AIS kids coming down for the weekend? If so, maybe Forestville girls would be the only team this would dramatically effect.

How many teams have players coming back for State Champs is not really the question here.... what will happen to those few teams who are affected?

PS - Southern would probably have Lalic, Brown and Scott all coming back.

Ok, how about this one. Centrals have no U18s girls div 1 team but a div 2 and div3 team. A few (2 or 3 i think, maybe 4) of the players in the div 2 team play ABL for their womens team. Does this count as div 1? does this mean they wont be able to enter their div 2 team because half their team is ineligable? or is playing senior div 1 excluded?
