I was so annoyed at ch 7 report on news tonight.
have Adelaide Lightning a new name
aka "Female Counterparts" ?
that was so insulting.
they could have said Adelaide Lightning "Male Counterparts"
in reference to the 36ers.
but then I guess that would have been an insult to the 36ers.
I think the girls deserve recognition . at least have the decency to use their team name.
they were probably confused by all the name changes and with the sale coming up there could well be another name change to the Adelaide Counterparts

For now, the name is the Adelaide Fellas until June 30 or until a new naming rights sponsor is found. Channel 7 probably went with the safe option because maybe they weren't sure of the official name?

I would hope that a future naming rights sponsor would go with "Adelaide sponsorname Lightning". But when it came to Channel 7, it might've just been a rushed write where they didn't have time to call the club outside of business hours and double check on the name. Not a big deal IMO.
