No, there haven't even been formal offers made. How could they make a decision without that happening?!

No the process will take a few weeks if not a month, Bruce Carter will sort though the 12 nominated tenders and then ask the best 3 or 4 to submit some sort of financial plan or business plan that will show they can fulfil the south Australian governments expectation. There is no point in selling the licence to a group of investors who don't know how to run a basketball club and have them full over in 18 months time.

The interested parties will now be short listed with a move towards contractual commitment which will occur over the next two to three weeks", Mr Carter said

whilst on the sale, spare a thought for the full time staff at the dome who have no idea of whether they have a job in a couple of months time and for all the casaul staff employed on game night who also have no idea of what the future will bring.these people arent the ones who have made the bad decisions of the past but look like they are the ones who are going to suffer!!

#85618, you've hit the nail on the head.

The people at the Dome are definitely unsure about what the future will hold, and they have had nothing to do with the poor decision making that has resulted in this situation. I feel for these people, and wish them the best in the forthcoming Buyout announcements.

#85618 - not too mention the volunteers who every time there is a staffing change they have to have more meetings to try and justify them being there and doing what they are doing.

Kev and anon,

Easy, they will not have a job.

And how many of the staff spoke out about the poor management decisions?

The biggtest problem with BASA has been the number of "Yes men" who are unwilling to speak up, and who assist in make bad decisions.

Look at the develoment program they have. It uses $200K+ per year of governemnt money and what does BASA or the clubs get out of it? No increase in participation rates in clubs and no income to BASA.

IMO, accepting the poor decisions from management is just as bad as making the decisions, if you are unwilling to speak up. If the staff had of done a better job then it would not have contributed to the situation as much.
