Forestville and Dandenong(spoiler)

Forestville lost to Dandenong 100-98. Not a bad effort. Stats are not up to date.

Looks like 110-98 to me, still not a bad effort, outsized i guess but the shortest play in the team still managed to get free regularly

We took 15 more shots than they did! They shot over 50%, pretty impressive.

39 3PT, Andy must have read tip on here about outshooting them, but maybe tip about crashing boards didn't sink into players minds.

Sutton leading rebounder!

Looks like it's a case of the Bowleys versus the Hennesseys!

I wonder if there is a Dave Hennessey?

Nice game from Sutton and good FT shooting from the Eagles - 13/15. Just got killed on the boards and inside it seems.

6/8 threes from Nixon in the girls' game is pretty impressive!

Way to go Sully! Bout time you had a good run of games. Living up to the Cheech reputation of being a big game player! Catch you for a series soon mate.

It was a very tight game. The final scoreline was the biggest margin of the game! Only 4 points the difference with 3 mins to play. But in the last three minutes nothing went the eagles way. 2 travel calls going against them, one was ridiculous which was called on Dix which cost them a lay up. Two fouls called against the eagles on rebounds which both were down their end, and both would have ended up with eagles scoring, instead, as they were in the bonus, Dandenong got free throws for both and they nailed all 4. So with those thing happening, it was a 10 point swing. Very unlucky for the eagles. They played just as well as Dandenong, yes they were beaten on the boards, but the eagles were much faster, and worked extremely hard, they just had no luck down the stretch!

It was a 5 point game at the half, after the eagles had the lead with only 3 mins to go in the first half. 6 point lead for Dandenong at 3 quarter time which was extended to 10 early in the 4th, before the eagles made run after run and put them self in a good position to win the game with only a few minutes to play but just were a bit stiff in my opinion. Don't want to blame the refs, but when it got close the calls seemed to go Dandenongs way, and why were there 2 vic refs umpiring anyway?

Great to see they bounced back at beat the Warratah champs the next day by 15 or so. Forestville clearly showed that they belonged at the nationals. They played hard, fast basketball, probably the best they have played all year, and were able to use their strenghts well and play very well as a team. They stretched an eventual grand finalist(who won alot easier in their semi final),and and had a great win against Sutherland. That second win was without Cambell and Macdonald-taylor as well!

Well done boys!
