Sounds like an awesome idea, but my thesis is due then, so I won't be making that trip!

For those that do go though, there is some awesome history to be seen in Turkey. Obviously Gallipoli, but also Istanbul, the ruins of ancient Troy (Ilium), Pergamon, Ephesus and the amazing cave cities and natural formations of Cappadocia.

Good luck with that LC - both your Masters and the 'impending' baby! It must feel good to be at the end of your Masters degree- what in btw?

Even though I've got a year to run on my PhD I constantly feel under the hammer... probably why I procrastinate by posting on here!

That's a great idea. BA might want to consider promoting the trip to Aussies living in Europe too, there's hunderds of thousands in London alone nearly all of whom are always up for a trip somewhere. Even if they didn't do the full tour I think it would be great to get a few hundred all sitting together for some big matches. Man, kind of wish I was still going to be over here then.

BA has just released the details of the WC supports tour.

I'd love to go but I can't! Maybe you can!

Fans interested in making an initial expression of interest in joining the tour should contact Nathan Garth at Show Group to have your name added to the list (email: [email protected]). Please indicate your interest in attending the Men's Championship, the Women’s Championship or both.

I'd love to go too. Not only do the Boomers have a real shot at doing well with the personnel they have now, but the games are in Turkey! Amazing country that has been at the crossroads between European and Asian civilisations for 3,000 plus years.

From the ancient but still thriving Istanbul to the empty ruins of past centres of civilisation in Ilium (Troy), Pergamon and Ephesus. With beautiful Mediterranean beaches and islands, amazing natural cave formations inland and the rugged beauty of the Gallipoli peninsula.

Witness to massive migrations and the clashes of civilisations, including the the army of Xerxes which numbered over 100,000 when it crossed the Dardanelles and swarmed into Greece 2400+ years ago (how does someone organise a party that big in those days?!?!), home to Herodotus 'The Father of History', ruled over by Persians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Ottomans and Turks.

Anyone who can find the time, I definitely recommend it! Only thing I'd rather do next year is get good tickets to every game of a Celtics-Lakers finals series!
