United still wait n see with delly...

United very very fortunate hukporti back for a 2nd year!

Bigs of hukporti, peatling and a healthy Humphris?? Isn't terrible, Barlow can also soak up some minutes…

Would love to see a big time 3/4 who can score signed and keep the last import spot incase delly leaves…

Still early as sides not complete yet, Sydney looking good. Tasmania again not looking great, makes them GF again, lol. SEM not great yet either, Creek and Broekhoff could not get it done last season.

"Creek and Broekhoff could not get it done last season"

SEM were 11-6 with Broekhoff at the point he got injured.

Interested in the 36ers last two spots. Surely a big man and an import PG. will need to make the lives soon. Wonder if Bairstow will return? It's been pretty quiet on that front.

You got Sobey as PG for Brisbane, which is wrong. Providing Johnson signs with Brisbane, it will be:

PG: Johnson|Cadee
SG: Sobey|Krebs

They're both combo guards who will be playing on and off the ball. The reality is Cadee will play 25 mins at PG, but he too can play on and off the ball.

I think Adelaide should go for someone like Mathiang over Bairstow now. Ideally both would be good, but already have Sotto.

How has Mathiang gone in nbl1, was doing great in Europe till a broken leg a couple of seasons back..

I never realised how high he has played; NBA, Turkey etc. Surprised there isn't more high demand for him. Just think he would offer more balance.

Even if he is struggling post injury, what alternative is there? I'd snap him up.

The alternative to Mathiang is Bairstow can't sign both and personally I'd prefer the devil we know in Bairstow than another big man coming off a serious leg injury.

Well that solves that argument.. lol

CJ didn't seem optimistic about bringing back Bairstow on the podcast. That was a vibe I took away..

Emmett Naar is going to be signed where?

I love his poise and playmaking and think he should find a role in the league... he'd be great in Tasmania is Weekes retired

Presumably we'll hear some United import signings within next week, given they now have certainty on Delly

Will be interesting to see how rosters pad out with any next stars.
Is it just MU (Hukporti), NZB (Rupert) with next stars thus far?
From last years next stars cast, what's happening with Makur Maker and Mojave King?

Bullets, Liam has listed Makur Maker as an out for Sydney with no destination which is a bit odd given NS contracts are 2 year deals but obviously for whatever reason he's not returning to the Kings. I haven't heard anything in regards to Mojave King and Liam is also listing Tom Digbeu as an out for Brisbane and Jessup has signed in Spain too.

Hukpoti and Rupert are the only two at this stage but that will likely change soon.

King and Jessup already done 2 years. Jessup would need to sign as an import.

Rumours are NZ's 3rd import is Barry Brown Jnr from the Beijing Ducks in the CBA.
He’s a 25 year old 6.3" Combo Guard who went to Kansas State and has played in the G-League and Bundesliga.

If true he’s the final piece of the puzzle for the Breakers

WMW / Le’afa
Brown* / Gliddon
Abercrombie / Rupert (NS)
Brantley* / Vodanovich / Fotu
Pardon* / Loe / Timmins

It's early days for making predictions, especially with United having multiple imports left to sign

But at this early stage it's looking like the usual suspects will be contending this year - Sydney, Perth and Melbourne.

With Adelaide being the most likely challenger from the rest

Sydney and Perth yes, not convinced on Adelaide gelling as a team to quickly.

At this stage I'm thinking

Favourites

Sydney

The reliables - long term history of success, solid rosters again, should make playoffs

Perth
United- pending a good 3rd import signing

The interestings

Adelaide- lots of talent
Brisbane- who knows
SEM- could jump up depending on their last signing

Middle range- unlikely to contend for title but should be alright

Tasmania

Unlikely to make playoffs

NZ
Illawarra
Cairns
