NZ v Melbourne 5.30 pm Melbourne time today.

Breakers coming off a loss and lots off travel makes this a very interesting challenge. You would think WMW would be back to the starting five and Brown back to the bench where his iso ball is better suited.

United need the win to stay alive and have good form, no Humphries or Barlow I believe. This makes it tough for them. United to have a crack but those two are out can't see the win unless Goulding or Tucker get 50.

Breakers by eight.

From the Breakers:

"Barry Brown will not suit up in tonight's game and will be sidelined for two weeks due to a groin injury.

Alex McNaught will replace him in the roster for tonight’s game."

Breakers will win but Melbourne is playing better of late. Will be a very good game. Breakers by 6

Breakers might be better without Brown's chucking.

United wins this and I'll start believing

Brown is a bigger out than Humphries and Barlow, given Lee's form. Basically makes this a 50/50 proposition

Not the first time Brown has been out and Breakers were winning without him. He took some BAD shots against the Cats when it would have been better to continue to let WMW run the show.

Breakers need to keep CG43 in check. If he doesn't get going Melbourne can’t win.

Dumb foul by Brantley. 13- 18 at quarter.

Honestly as an NBL fan/Breakers fan (living in Auckland). It gets hard. With such a non-consistent schedule, it's hard to keep up and attend home games when some are 2 days apart and then 5 weeks apart.

They won’t play at Auckland from December 8 to January 15. They decide to schedule 2 home games in a row out of Auckland. The schedule itself is all over the place.

Lightning might be crap but the commentary is excellent. Hopefully the Australian commentary can learn from these guys, of course with the exception of Gaze.

Breakers down by 13, really have missed easy buckets. United playing very well. As Screeningnick said Lee is a marvel and United are smart enough to keep him. I'd say he would get nice pay rise. Breakers just not flowing like normal, lot time difference from Perth to NZ.

Goulding zero from five, that's not staying like that for second half. Breakers will have to be near perfect from here.

Agree about Lee. A few of those missed shots inside down to players hearing Lee's footsteps as well. Really plays to his strength. Finds the open man.

Nbl refs are so frustrating, I don't see home cooking, I just see bad officiating. Tucker has realised to get fouls in the nbl just hit the floor, make it look like you have been hit. It’s just rubbish.

Five hours in fact and they tipped off at 11:30pm local time.

Nine points in it, should be a good finish, Leafa keeping breakers in it. Probably favouring United from as Brantley has four fouls.

NBL teams are dumb if they're not having serious discussions already about the possibility of locking Lee up for next season.

Best side won, breakers probably there own worst enemy. Brantley and Pardon got find their old form. WMW having a bad one as well.
Newley turning the clock back, best for United in an even team performance. They get Barlow and Humphries back if they make finals will be a solid test.

I'm back.

Can't believe 2 absolutely woeful games from Abercrombie, and no one brings it up!

It's like he is a nothing man on the court, as well as on the boards.

Perth bemoan the lack of production out of blanchfield. Man alive, he's lebron compared to Abercrombie.

Abercrombie across 50 minutes has given us zero points and a handful of rebounds.

Meanwhile Rupert, who is 1000 times better, sits.

The Breakers may have won both games just by playing Rupert over Abercrombie.

Good win for United, better rotations from Vickerman and ball movement and shot selection much improved despite Goulding having an off night.

Breakers looked exhausted, their schedule just too packed of late. Surprised at the Barry Brown criticism (of being a chucker etc), from the games I've seen he looks a real star, competitor with a complete game.

Looking to next season for United as finals are unlikely, I’d be locking in Lee and potentially XRM. If Hukporti returns could Humphries be moved on? Jack White could be back, not sure with Delly.
