Play in Games

PER v SEM 9th Feb 6.30AEDT
Cairns v TAS 9th Feb 8.30AEDT

What are peoples thoughts?

Why is it a Thursday night?

Only Perth could have a finals game telecast at 3.30pm local time...

Surely they could have switched the order? played one Thursday and one Friday?

Massive advantage for SEM ( I know they earn it), week off while Perth will be playing game number 3 in 8 days...

I guess that's the dilemma of time zones right?

Cairns making it made it more helpful for a double header, have it at 7.30 their time which is still fine to go to physically, and you get a nice 6.30-10.30pm doubleheader slot.

If it was two AEDT, it probably gets awkwardly late.

I suspect SEM didn't want to play on a Friday night against rep basketball in Melbourne? And the winner of Cairns v Tassie has to play a SF in Auckland on Sunday, so best to have that on Thurs. That's my guess.

It would have been Thursday-Friday if the timezones didn't allow for it based on past finals scheduling.

Didn't allow for a double header, that is.
