Can't imagine Lee and Magnay on the court together?

Assuming McVeigh plays a ton of 4.

Lee looks a good signing and should fit the system nicely surrounded by their shooters.

The JJs are certainly aiming for a title. They've changed the mix that was successful in the first two years, but their top-end talent is definitely better, they are more athletic and they have constant rim protection to back up their pressure:

Lee/Magnay/Bairstow
McVeigh/Krslovic
Drmic/Steindl
Doyle/Madut
Crawford/Macdonald

They don't have the same coverage at PG they've had previously, so could be vulnerable to injury there, but if they stay fit have a good balance. Wonder if they're pursuing a Next Star?

Think Basket nailed the lineup. One more local and potentially a NS to add to the mix.

Agree on Lee and Magnay rarely playing together, and McVeigh remaining at the 4. Majok Deng as last local?

Doyle can play some PG at a pinch.

They were chasing a wing next star but Santamaria was on radio last week and said nothing was imminent for the JJs in the next star space.

Maybe Weeks stays fit as an injury replacement type?

That's a good point re Weeks, he'll definitely be keeping fit. Might be the next Tim Coenraad!

They made Magnay a marquee to come off the bench? My goodness.

Hahaha! Surely everyone knows now that good teams have good players coming off the bench - Barry Brown, Ian Clark, Scotty Hopson just in the past three grand finals.

great get - still have an Australian and potential N/S

Lee is exactly what JJs needed

Magnay would need to show a lot to start over Lee IMO. Perfect signing for the JJs I think, exactly what they need - sort of what Magnay was expected to bring but so far hasn't approached, and plenty of mins for Magnay off the bench at the 4/5 spots still.

Roth will pick whichever is playing the role best at the time as starter, he's shown he's not afraid to change up his line-ups during the season.

Really like what Lee showed last season with United. Glad he's remained in the league, terrific signing for the Jacks.

I think Magnay/Lee on court together can work. People have forgotten the Bullets had an excellent stretch when Magnay was starting and playing alongside Hodgson. Both performed well together at a point where Hodgson reached the peak of his NBL days. If Magnay can regain his outside shooting, can’t see why a similar pairing wouldn’t fare well-ish.

Remember when Hodgson was good? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Great signing by the JJ's and stoked to have him stay in the league.

On second thoughts do they have enough 3 point shooters? Out of the bigs only McVeigh can. I guess it is not much different from previous years there

Isn't Magnay on big money?

How is he starting off the bench?

Magnay might have been in his first season but given how injured he was I'm willing to bet he took a decent pay cut to get the 2 year extension they gave him later that season.

I think the signing of Lee suggests the JJ's no longer envisage Magnay as a starter and may even move on from him after this season.

It just says they want two good defensive centres who protect the rim. JJs coaching staff love what Magnay brings defensively.

I love going to Tassie, but wow I dislike them even more now as a team. They keep having new tricks under their sleeves.

I think the JJ's guard positions are their only weakness. Not much 3pt shooters plus their rims in Tassie don’t provide enough 3pt’s to begin with!

The NBL need a rule just like the NBA that all basketball courts have to be made by the same suppliers and that’s it, keep it simple.

I was thinking it was the other way around they have lost a lot on defence loosing kenyon and Kelly but are a lot better offensively and go a lot deeper with the Crawford, lee ,madut, and Majok signings
